We are excited to have achieved Planning Consent for this attractive and sensitive holiday lodge development near Scourie in the far North West Highlands for client Northwest Retreats.
The site layout was developed through working closely with NatureScot and the Planning Authority to integrate buildings into the protected Cnocan landscape while maximising the stunning views across the bays of Badcall and Eddrachillis.
The design team is currently exploring the technical challenge of designing a “heather roof”, which will allow the buildings to disappear into the landscape and integrate the lodges into wider views of the Assynt-Coigach National Scenic Area. Materials will be simple, natural, and low maintenance throughout to ensure a “light touch” approach to this very special landscape.
